Hicham El Filali  [ March, 2014 ]
Hicham El Filali

Hicham El Filali was born in Rabat, Morocco.  After obtaining a baccalaureate degree in France, he moved to the U.S. to complete his education.  He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and shortly after pursued a Master’s degree in Taxation from the same University.

After working in the corporate world as a financial advisor with American Express, a mutual funds accountant with Bank of New York and a tax accountant with a local CPA firm, Hicham created GreenRock Financial, a professional firm providing clients with personalized guidance in the areas of accounting, payroll, and tax services.

Since its inception, the company helped thousands of individuals and hundreds of businesses with their tax and accounting needs.  The company currently has 2 offices (in Orlando and Kissimmee) and is planning on opening additional offices in the Orlando area.

In 2013, Hicham El Filali, E.A. earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS and obtained the Enrolled Agent status which is the highest credential the IRS awards with unlimited practice rights.

“To me, it means a lot when people I just met open up to me about their personal finances.  Very shortly after, I find myself part of the few people they trust and come to for advice before making any important financial decision.  I know that my advice impacts lives and I never take that lightly”

Hicham El Filali has also been very involved in the community.  He served on the board of directors of the Moroccan American Chamber of Commerce (MACC) for which he was the Treasurer then the Vice President.  He also helped with organizing several events for the community including many mobile consulate events and several fundraisers for members of the Moroccan community.

One of Hicham’s favorite things to do is to backpack and learn about new cultures.  Hicham backpacked around more than 30 countries.  One of his favorite areas to explore is Southeastern Asia.

“I promised myself that no matter how busy I am or how successful I become, I will always take time off and travel very simply.  It is very important for me to disconnect from the routine and to get away.  It makes me think, helps me find the way to myself and gives me new perspectives”
