Sara Amiri  [ April, 2012 ]
Sara Amiri

Sara is from Casablanca and has moved to the United States when she was 17 years old. She graduated in May 2011 with a Bachelor in Finance & Business Law and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She is currently a candidate for an MBA in Finance and IT Management. Sara is also Bloomberg certified as of March 2012.

While pursuing her bachelor degree, she has been very involved in co-curricular activities. She held different leadership positions, such as President of the International Student Association, and founder & President of the Muslim Student Association in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She worked for The Tranel Financial Group in Chicago after her graduation before returning to complete her MBA program in Wisconsin. Sara has been awarded for three consecutive semesters with a grant to be part of Launch Pad, a business incubator program at the Whitewater Technology Park. She is currently Co-Founder and CEO of Peer2Connect LLC, a provider of social and academic software solutions for universities to meet the needs of their international students. She is the winner of the 2011 Stateline Rockford Business Plan Contest in Illinois and candidate for the Cartier Women Initiative in France. Sara is proud sponsor through Peer2Connect of the first International Student Conference in the Midwest. As a side job, Sara enjoys being a Market Analyst for the Wisconsin Innovation Service Center (WISC) and tutor at the Center of Students with Disabilities.

When she is not in class or work, she enjoys writing, learning piano, and making Moroccan tea for her friends. Sara’s biggest motivation is her family in Morocco, especially her father Mohammed Amiri and her mother Fatiha Kachouhi who have been a great support to her since the beginning of her journey in the United States.

Sara’s mission is to be a successful woman entrepreneur and return to Morocco to be part of the economic development of the country.
