love your country for what it is and what it is not.

love-your-country-for-what-it-is-and-what-it-is-not.

Yo this one goes out to those who miss home the most/
to my brothaz and sistaz from coast to coast/
come with me and i ma take you all back in time/
to a place where u don't need to pack a nine/
cuz it's all good in da hood in the eyes of a child/
playing soccer in da "DERB" or in the rising tide/
kickin' it on the curb with no worries in mind/
stayin' cool skippin' school with nowhere to go/
hangin' out just about everywhere we go/
and the principal said:" ya eslayti, i told ya/
now u gotta get your mom or dad to sign for ya/
you wanna stay in shool or grow be a soldia??"/
and who can recall the streets around the "mondial"??/
empty as hell like it was freezin' cold ya'll/
we was bold ya'll, but we loved the faze/
ya'll recall the days of the "golf Azure" craze/
i'm amazed to how things changed so quick and easy/
we all copied in school tests but here it's sleazy/
we had a whole lotta time but right now we're biizy/
we're runnin' around confused in this life marathon/
busier than "haj talal" in a scooter sale-a-thon/
"friends forever" how many of us made that pact??/
not even knowin' that it was gonna break that fast/
my high school years i really miss what passed/
time flies fast only the memories that last/
remember "ramadan" and you tryin' not to swear/
"allahoumma inni sayim" should be on the shirt you wear/
i really miss the sound of the cannon and the call to prayer/
it's been nine years now i just wish i was there.

PEACE OUT.
