Tetouan, Feb.26– Queen Sofia
of Spain flew back home on Friday afternoon after a two-day visit to
Morocco.
The Spanish queen, whose visit to Morocco was part of a tour that also
included Algeria and Mauritania, was greeted at the airport by HRH
Princess Lalla Salma, spouse of HM King Mohammed VI.
During her stay in the Moroccan northern city of Tetuan, the Spanish queen
who was accompanied by secretary of state for cooperation, Leire Pajin,
and a group of journalists, visited several educational, cultural and
social institutions in which the Spanish southern region of Andalusia
contributed financially.
In addition to attending a dinner banquet hosted in her honor by HRH
Princess Lalla Salma, Queen Sofia visited the Moulay Rachid center for the
protection of children, a center for the transfer of water technologies,
the “Hanane” compound for the education, training and rehabilitation of
handicapped children and the Spanish cultural center “Cervantes”.
The Queen had accompanied her husband King Carlos during his visit to
Morocco in mid-January.
