OUAGADOUGOU, Feb. 28- HM
King Mohammed VI of Morocco held, here Monday, private talks with
President Blaise Compaoré, on the first day of his official visit to
Burkina faso, second leg of a three-nation African tour.
The two heads of States “expressed satisfaction at their bilateral
relations and agreed to extend them to sustainable and human development.
They also discussed current international and African issues.”
This is the first visit of the monarch to Burkina Faso since he ascended
the throne in 1999.
The visit is expected to give a new impetus to economic cooperation
between Morocco and this West African country as it falls in the general
dynamic to enhance fruitful exchanges with sub-Saharan Africa.
HM King Mohammed VI arrived in Ouagadougou from Libreville (Gabon) where
he paid a “working and friendship visit” followed by a private stay.
Senegal will be the last leg of this African tour.
